The English-taught interdisciplinary Master’s Programme “Advanced Materials and Processes” (MAP) is a combination of Materials Science and Engineering with Chemical and Biological Engineering. These disciplines play a key role in the development of novel technologies – without the development of new materials, a great range of key inventions from digital computers or jet engines to customized medical implants would not have been possible.

Interested students and scientists are cordially invited to gain personal insights into MAP during the first ever digital MAP poster presentation via MURAL on 12 February 2021 from 3:30 to 6:30 pm. MAP students of the third semester from all over the world present scientific posters on the results of their research mini projects. They spent about 300 hours on their research topics and additionally took part in a scientific skills seminar on how to prepare convincing scientific posters. The MAP poster presentation is competitive, as a jury of MAP professors, lecturers and members of the MAP Executive Board will judge these posters. The best poster will be awarded a prize.

Sometimes such research mini projects, which are presented in the MAP poster presentation, are the basis for further scientific achievements of the students. For instance, an original research article of MAP student Ziyu Liao as co-author was published in the scientific magazine Frontiers in Immunology.

The MAP poster presentation is an ideal opportunity to learn more about the MAP programme, MAP students, MAP lecturers, and MAP research areas. Joining this event is highly recommendable for all students that are interested in studying MAP. The next application period for MAP starts on 8 February, 2021. Further information is available within the application section of the MAP website.
