From January 21st to 23rd 2019, Professor Aldo R. Boccaccini hosted a delegation of students from the School of Engineering of the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, with sponsorship of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

Sixteen students of different engineering disciplines took part in this study trip, coordinated and accompanied by Prof. Ing. Jorge N. Zanabria. The main theme of the trip was „Biofabrication and 3D Printing in Medicine“. The students attended presentations of members of the Institute of Biomaterials and also carried out experiments in the WW7 cell culture and biofabrication laboratories.

The programme also included presentations of Ms Marina Rupprecht of the Bavarian University Centre for Latin America and by Ms Claudia Barnickel from the study programme Medical Engineering.

Furthermore, the visit was linked to our biofabricaton research projects within the framework of the Collaborative Research Centre SFB/TRR 225 „From the fundamentals of biofabrication towards functional tissue models“.
